Richmond Parent Carers Action Group
Are you the parent of a child with additional needs aged 0-19?
Are you interested in knowing more about opportunities to shape services for your child?
Come and join us, you will have an opportunity to:
- meet other parents
- find out how parent participation works in other local authorities
- look at the practical issues you might face and how these can be overcome
We meet about every 6 weeks on Friday mornings. Please check the Me too & Co current programme of events or go to www.rpcag.org.uk to find out when the next meeting is or give us a call.
Affiliated to Me Too & Co and with the help of Contact a Family the forum aims are:
- To ensure parent participation in the development of Services for children with additional needs provided by the Borough.
- To ensure parent representation on relevant Local Authority Committees and Partnership Boards
- To work in partnership with local Services.
- To offer Parent Carers an opportunity to support each other, spread information, and generate new ideas around improving Services for their disabled children.
- To improve the amount and quality of information available.
- To empower parents to get involved in making change.
Parent participation is a vital part of the new integrated Services for Children with Disabilities and Learning Difficulties, set up in Richmond in 2005, to meet the standards set by the National Service Framework for Children. Parents, carers and disabled children must be involved in the decision making process for service development.
Open to parents/carers who live in the Borough of Richmond and professionals. The RPCAG needs your views: please join by visiting www.rpcag.org.uk or contact us by email at info@rpcag.org.uk.
