Equal Opportunities Policy

Me too & Co recognises that in society, groups and individuals are disadvantaged and is committed to taking positive steps to remedy this situation.

Disadvantaged groups can be identified according to class, colour, creed, ethnic or national origin, disability, sexual orientation or age. Unless an organisation examines in detail the effect its work has on these less powerful sections of the community, it will work in a way which furthers the interests of the most powerful people in society.

Management Committee

It is a primary goal of the organisation that its Committee is representative of the diversity of the population that it serves. To this end, it will advertise all posts widely and make sure that employment recruitment procedures do not discriminate, intentionally or unintentionally, against any individual.

Composition of recruited volunteers

The organisation will take steps to ensure that knowledge of its work is available and relevant to all sections of the community. Publicity and recruitment practices will seek to ensure that the composition of its recruited Volunteers reflects the presence of different groups in the community and that no one is unfairly prevented from taking part in the organisation’s activity.

Access for people with disabilities

The Association will do its best to ensure that disabled people are not prevented by physical or other barriers from taking part in its activities for example, activities take place in ground floor rooms with wheelchair access, and are adapted for those who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing, etc.
