“Living and working locally I felt the need to do something worthwhile for my community. Having been introduced to Me Too & Co through www.do-it.org.uk, I could not have been luckier than to have found such a fantastic charity.
I have been a volunteer since the beginning of 2007 and cannot express the amount of satisfaction, fulfilment and reward the organisation brings.
Having little experience of interacting with children with special needs, I found the support and set-up to be fantastic and now feel confident in contributing to the sessions.
I would strongly recommend anyone who can spare a few hours a week to get involved as I am sure you will get out what you put in, if not more.”

My name is Glenys and I have been a volunteer with Me Too & Co for some time. I am really delighted that I can offer a few hours per week to work along side Anne-Marie Asgari (Co-Ordinator) and the many others who make the Me Too group such a special one.
Me Too & Co offers support to families and carers of children with special needs aged 0-6 years. It offers an opportunity for children to play and be entertained while parents and carers can seek advice and assistance from the many people who drop in and offer specialist services. For many parents, just to sit and talk to other parents over a cup of tea gives them a break in their hectic week.
I really enjoy my time at Me Too as, over the weeks you get to know children and their families. We are with them through their ups and downs and as the children grow and move on to their next service or school, it is satisfying to have been a part of their world.
Anne-Marie organises training days for volunteers so we learn more about a range of topics like:
The volunteers also have social occasions like get-togethers during the year so we all are able to chat over lunch. Week to week tends to be busy, so a lunch provides a perfect opportunity to chat and relax. The volunteers are of different ages and different backgrounds and I have met some really interesting people.
I am fortunate that at this point in my life with grown up children, I have some spare time, and for me to be able to volunteer at a group like Me Too & Co is a wonderful opportunity to give something back to the community. If you find yourself with a couple of spare hours a week, why not come along and give volunteering a try at Me Too & Co.
